24.24.24. is a view of a day in concurrent time. All of the day’s twenty-four hours are presented at once. In the minutia of time, banal events unfold and are made extraordinary through the camera’s gaze. People go to work and to school, time is stretched and skewed, the act of taking a walk or watering a lawn develops a magical quality. Light gains character, shadow reshapes objects, and time becomes palpable. Take a look.
32 A man has souls, says a faith in Myanmar, but we must always call them back to us. The film is at the same time a portrait of a woman who, towards the end of her life, lives alone in a poor hut in the middle of the forest, and an invocation of the ghosts of the past of a country afflicted by wars and losses. The observing, poetic flow of images is repeatedly interrupted by a ghostly, subjective camera - representative of the wandering souls. Lars Meyer
In Cottbus' Polish twin town Zielona Góra, in the middle between Berlin and Breslau/Wrocław, an impoverished plumber and a fat rich widow meet with plenty of wine and singing at the Hotel Posthof. Schwank based on motifs of a musical play by Karl von Holtei, starring the regional acting star and DJane Beata Małecka. A swank staged between tongue-in-cheek irony and palatable humour, which takes up the popular style of the Wroclaw dialect poet von Holtei (1798-1880), who died in 1880, and satirises en passant the German comedy "Auf halbem Weg" from 1939, based on the same play. The game will take place in the Zajazd Pocztowy (Posthof) - the appropriate rustic location with the obligatory wine cellar vault. In addition to Małecka, the ensemble includes other local celebrities from Zielona Góra, including Marcin Wiśniewski, who has been giving the official Bacchus there for years. As is customary for a folk play, morality ends up with ambiguous twists and turns and not quite simple family relationships: plumber and widow, who are accommodated in the same room in Grünberg/Zielona Góra by the landlady, are, without knowing it, already in-laws-in-law. His brother - her husband - died, hence her journey. The widow wanted to meet the plumber in Breslau/Wrocław, and he was hoping to work with her. BB USING A TEXT BY EBERHARD NAHLY
