If one asks oneself the question about the meaning of life and sees the world as God's work, the matter suddenly becomes very serious - or simply absurd. Especially if you want to meet the challenge with rational analysis at the same time. After such a serious beginning one expects a profound treatise on the subject of faith. Instead, we experience a married couple in the car. He is a materialist and wheelchair-bound, she is a romantic and a wife practiced in patience. The question of faith is quickly overshadowed by the usual image of a marriage while driving - only that she drives the vehicle and he only operates the board computer, often even wrong. This road movie lives from the quarrel of the love of the two protagonists and renounces any showmanship. At the end of the journey the two of them look at a deserted mountain landscape, which is as raptured as the question of the meaning of life and the dear God. KM
Once upon a time there was a life full of surprises, treasures, banalities, pain and joys ... But taking stock of a CV can also develop into waste disposal and disposal work - official, factual and soulless. An ambulance makes its way through a congested street. It lasts and lasts ... We fear for the life of the human being who needs help. The other vehicles are evading. Then death wins the race against time and leaves its traces: a nameless corpse and all the belongings that were collected in life and must now be removed. The document, filmed with protocol sharpness and pathos-free, tells the story of a life after death. KM
There are films that have a pulling effect on us, that lead us into a strange world with the power of images and tell stories that we cannot escape - and that put us in a state of suspension that is known as the "pure cinema experience". Kuba Czekaj, today a star of the young Polish directing scene, shows moments from the life of a young woman with great finesse and pictorial refinement. We are in a swimming pool in which the atmosphere, not the history, directs our perception. Only the repeatedly displayed time data lend the place a tangible framework. In this way, the director builds up the tension that puts the viewer in a kind of lurking position, at the same time hoping to solve the riddle of the images. Gradually the picture narrows in the course of the narrative until the story dissolves before our eyes in the black nothingness as a foretaste of death. The short portrait of loneliness is an exciting game with cinematic means and a grandiose proof that aesthetic emptiness can be a force field full of emotions and beauty. KM

He wants to realize this together with his great love of that time. But the time in the village went on even without Marcin and has left its traces. Gradually it becomes clear to him that he has become a stranger in his old homeland and the connection to the old life becomes a feat of strength. TRAUTES HEIM CZYŻEWO is a subtle ballad about life and loving - and about the facts that are there and not to be imagined without. KM TRAUTES HEIM CZYŻEWO is presented at the Solanin Film Festival in Nowa Sól.
